This church is fundamental believing the bible as inspired of God. It is populated by conservatives, locals and large families of well-mannered home schoolers. It is 200 years old (Little House on the Prairie-type) with its own manicured cemetery and has been in operation continuously, successfully the whole time. They accept and welcome Believers in Jesus from all colors and cultures. The pastor is James Hakeem, from a Christian family - from Egypt. They practice kindness and humility, believing the main service is to be honoring the Father, not each other, which is on a carried out by standard order each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. They have communion, and also a carry-in lunch and other activities monthly, where everyone is welcomed.
Christ is exalted here. They know God's love, and love Him because He first loved us. It is because they love Him that they serve Christ and obey Him. They worship according to how Scripture says, and do church according to how Scripture says--not only because as their Savior and King, Christ has all authority in the church, but because their only hope for any good to come from them is whatever Christ does for them, in them, and through them. Full disclosure: they have just called and received me as their new pastor, but I couldn't be more awed or thankful to labor for such a congregation and under such elders and deacons as they have. Maybe every pastor thinks and feels the same, but this is a special group!
